You're correct if you thought that the new Hot Wheels expansion for Forza Horizon would be in the sky. Playground has revealed a map showing a huge structure floating in the sky with cloud cover far below. While Forza Horizon was proud of its large Mexican open-world, the Hot Wheels expansion seems to be entirely separate from the main game. This map reveal doesn't show if there is any crossover between these two settings.
Apart from the fact that the Hot Wheels expansionmap is floating in the air and has three distinct islands, the most striking feature of it is its composition. Each of the Forza HTML5 map islands seems to have its own biome. The north island has a lush green biome, with rivers and forested areas. The southwest island is rocky and covered in snow. It may also contain lava pits and an active volcano. The southeast island, meanwhile, is a desert biome that includes semi-arid shrubbery as well as canyons.
An intricate network of Hot Wheels orange and blue track connectors runs across the three islands. Close inspection will reveal all kinds of features within the tracks for the Hot Wheels extension, including flips and drops, jumps and tunnels. Playground must have used its creative skills to get the best out of the Hot Wheels tracks.
It is an exciting combination of Hot Wheels tracks and natural biomes. Assumedly, players will be able leave Hot Wheels tracks to explore each island as they wish. The natural biomes are fascinating in their own right, but it is also exciting to have them as background details. This would allow Playground to be very creative without worrying about whether players drive on their terrain.
The Hot Wheels expansion is shown in a top-down view. Forza players will be eager to see the map and play for themselves. Hot Wheels is set to launch on July 19 for Forza 5. You can purchase it individually for $19.99 or with the Forzahor
izon 5 Expansions Bundle at $34.99. Or as part of the Forzahorizon 5 Premium Edition which includes the base game for $79.99. In the coming days, fans can expect more Forza 5 Hot Wheels news.
