Sea of Thieves Season 7 Release Date Delayed

Rare, a Sea of Thieves developer, has announced that Season 7 will be released soon.

After a rough launch in 2018, The Sea of Thieves developer Rare has been able to stabilize the ship. The title's transition to a seasonal content model has been a success, and Season 7 will bring even more excitement to the pirate adventure. Rare made an announcement in the early hours of the morning that the new season's premiere would be delayed until later in the summer.

The Sea of Thieves Season 7 was revealed at the Xbox Showcase last month. The new season will bring many changes to the cosmetic side to the pirate title. The new season, appropriately titled Captaincy will give players the power to make major changes to their ships such as changing their names and the appearance of their cabins. The new currency will make it easier to sell loot. Although originally scheduled to launch on July 21, the date has been changed.

Joe Neate, executive producer of Season 7, shares updates on season's progress in a developer post. Neate shared excitement and mentioned how Season 7 would bring major changes. However, Neate also noted that the team realized that many of the changes required more time as they approached launch. The new season will introduce a slew of new stats, which requires a deeper partnership between "Game, UI, and Service teams" in order to make it all happen. The new season will launch on August 4.

Neate says this was done to make sure Rare fans have a great experience and to allow Rare to continue operating in a sustainable way. Season 6 was a long season for players. But August will be busy with the launch and Adventure of the new season.

Although delays are not fun, the majority of fans have been happy with their experience. Sea of Thieves is a live product that has been in production since its launch in 2018. It's only right that the team behind this long-running pirate adventure gets a break, considering crunch being an enormous problem in the industry. Players have until the end of Season 6 to finish their work before there is an official closure.
