The launch of Halo Infinite was marred by a lack of a mode that many considered a core feature of the series, a cooperative campaign. Seven months later, the long-awaited mode finally makes its debut, albeit temporarily. 343 Industries declared Friday that a network test of Halo Infinite’s co-op campaign would be available for both Xbox and PC gamers. The test will be ended on August 1, so it won't stay up for more than two weeks.
Although the test will give you a glimpse at the new four-player cooperative mode, it is not the only feature that is being introduced. This test will include the much-requested feature of mission replay. This allows you to replay story missions, something that is not possible in Halo Infinite.
You can automatically get access to the Xbox test on Xbox consoles if you are a Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Plus subscriber. All you have to do is download the preview build. If you have purchased Halo Infinite on Xbox, the same applies. The Steam network test will only be open to those who have been enrolled in the Halo Insider Program.
You won't have the ability to download Infinite through Microsoft Store or Game Pass. However, players on those platforms have reported that they were able to receive keys to the Steam version of Infinite, as long as they had previously signed up for Halo Insider. This applies regardless of where the PC version is played.
This test appears to be a positive step towards Halo Infinite campaign. However, Halo Infinite's multiplayer has been subject to criticisms in the months that have passed since its launch. These include its excessive use of microtransactions, lackluster Ultimate Challenge rewards and an offensively offensive in-game emblem.
